The Lypo-C Enoshima Olympic Week 2025 officially kicked off today. This year's event features a total of eight classes, including four Olympic dinghy classes (470, FX, ILCA7, ILCA6), along with 29er, 420, Optimist (OP), and Snipe. Today saw the registration and measurement for the 470 class.

This year, we have a huge fleet of 302 boats participating from Japan, France, Thailand, Taiwan, and Hong Kong. Races will be held across six courses. The 470 class will compete for three days, starting this Friday, May 23rd. The ILCA7, ILCA6, FX, 29er, 420, OP, and Snipe classes are all scheduled for two days of racing, starting this Saturday, May 24th.

This is a high-level international competition, with judges invited from overseas. It's also a unique event that brings together Olympic-bound teams, junior, and youth sailors. The regatta is open to junior and youth sailors aspiring to compete globally. High school students are largely participating in the 420 and ILCA6 classes, which are youth categories also adopted in the Inter-High School Championships, and the high-speed 29er class. Elementary and junior high school students are heavily entered in the OP class, an introductory boat for sailing. Furthermore, the Snipe class, an international boat popular among a wide range of generations from university students to adults, has attracted the most entries in this competition and is expected to feature highly competitive and thrilling races.

本日よりLypo-C Enoshima Olympic Week 2025が開幕、オリンピッククラスのディンギー4種目（470、49erFX、ILCA7、ILCA6）に加えて、29er、420、OP、スナイプ、の計8種目で実施されます。本日は470の登録受付・計測が行われました。

今年は、日本、フランス、タイ、台湾、香港から、302艇（525人）が参加するビックフリートとなりました。6海面を使って、470は23日（金）からの3日間、ILCA7、 ILCA6、FX 、29er、420、OP、スナイプは24日（土）から2日間のレースが予定されています。

海外から審判を招聘して実施されるハイクラスな国際大会であると同時に、五輪出場チームからジュニア、ユースセーラーまでが一堂に集うユニークな大会です。世界を目指すジュニア・ユースセーラーにも門戸を開いており、インターハイでも採用されているユース種目の「420 級」や「ILCA6 級」、ハイスピードの「29er級」には高校生が、セーリング競技への入門艇である「OP級」には小学生から中学生が多数エントリー。さらに大学生から社会人まで幅広い世代に普及している国際艇種の「スナイプ級」は、今大会で最も多くの参加艇数が集まりレベルの高い熱戦が繰り広げられることが予想されます。
