JSAF Enoshima Olympic Week 2018 has started in Enoshima Yacht Habour (Fujisawa City, Kanagawa) from September 21, 2018.
377 sailors, 267 boats from 28 countries/areas are participating in this regatta. The fights are on the water between September 22nd and 24
Enoshima Olympic Week continues from 1980’s when the 470 class had been selected as Olympic class for the Montreal Olympics.
It is the only single international ranking regatta certified by World Sailing among of continuous yearly regattas in Japan and also it is a part of ASAF Sailing Cup which is intending to develop Asian sailors.
In addition that, this top class regatta calls world’s top sailors as well as junior level sailors who are challenging to world top level so that lots of junior high school and high school students are attending to inter-high classes such as 420 and Laser Radial.
Marit Bouwmeester (Netherlands) is a winner of Rio Olympic Games at Laser Radial class. Such Medalist and junior sailors are competing on the same water – this is one of the unique points of Olympic Week.
